Art is a curriculum subject from Y1 to Y9. At GCSE and IB it is a very popular and successful elective. Several students have used their IB studies as a platform to enter art schools and colleges, some with scholarships from leading institutions.
Supported by excellent facilities for drawing, design and multimedia, our students are inspired to be creative by experienced and talented teachers.
Our regular art exhibitions show the huge range of impressive work across a vast canvas. Student created murals provide inspiring backdrops to our subject areas around school as do a range of innovative projects.
The creative intent of our students is also supported by art clubs and workshops in both the Junior and Senior Schools.

Drama is an integral part of the curriculum for students in Years 1 to 9. It forms a popular and successful elective at IGCSE and it helps to develop important personal skills - specifically an understanding and appreciation of self. It develops confidence and deals with vital personal issues, such as bullying, in meaningful contexts. The annual IGCSE production, filmed in front of a live audience, shows off the acting craft at its best. We also offer Theatre Studies as part of the IB program.
Drama has a huge role to play in wider school life. There are major theatrical productions in all Junior year groups and an annual Senior School play or musical. These productions offer a huge range of opportunity to our students: acting, dancing and singing, choreography and stage management as well as front-of-house. All students get involved. Our most recent production was We Will Rock You. You can see pictures and a highlights video below.

Finally, there are local theatre workshops (with Sitara), puppet theatre (with the Doum Cultural Foundation), specially hosted productions and a popular Drama Trip to London and Stratford for IGCSE students.

Music plays a major role in school. Within the curriculum all children take music classes from FS to Year 9, and it is offered as a successful elective at IGCSE and IB.
Music is a vital performance medium with band, choir and a Swing Band. There are many performance opportunities with regular Open Mic lunchtime concerts, small soirees and the annual Christmas Concert and Embassy Carol Service. The school also participates in the Battle of the Bands competition which it won last year.
The Music department also collaborates in an annual whole school production.
In Years 4-6, pupils take part in a band programme where each child is offered the opportunity to learn a brass or woodwind instrument. This is taught in small groups by specialist teachers.
Individual music lessons are offered on a private basis, supported by specialist teachers for the following instruments: the clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, drums, guitar, flute, piano, voice and violin. Lessons are organised within the school day on a rotational basis so as not to coincide with the same subject each week.
Children get the opportunity to showcase their progress with informal performances to parents and friends on a termly basis. They are encouraged to work towards a grade level via Trinity examinations. They are also asked to support school events like Speech Day and Celebration Assemblies.
