The British International School, Cairo (BISC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the learning and development of children in the Junior School. Teaching Assistants work under the direction and guidance of the School Principal, the Head of Junior School, and Junior School teachers.

Classroom Support
Administrative Duties
Teaching Assistants at BISC are required to support class teachers with administrative duties, which may include:
Supporting Learning and Development
- Assisting individual pupils or groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable full participation in activities.
- Helping pupils develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Supervising pupils during playtimes, lunchtimes, assemblies, and at end-of-day dismissal.
- Accompanying groups or classes on educational outings.
Classroom Support
- Supervising and assisting during classroom activities.
- Supporting teachers with maintaining pupil records (including observations if required).
- Providing additional support for children with emotional or behavioural challenges
Administrative Duties
Teaching Assistants at BISC are required to support class teachers with administrative duties, which may include:
- Preparing and tidying materials for learning and teaching (with ongoing safety checks of classroom equipment).
- Helping to keep classrooms clean, safe, and organised.
- Preparing and presenting displays of pupils’ work.
- Supporting class teachers with photocopying and other administrative tasks.
- Undertaking other duties as required by the Principal or Head of Junior School.

- University degree or other appropriate educational qualifications.
- Experience working with children or within a school environment.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Competence in using ICT to support learning and administration.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Aptitude for practical support skills, such as preparing classroom displays.
- Willingness to undertake appropriate training.
