Teacher of Physics

The British International School, Cairo (BISC) is seeking an experienced and well-qualified teacher of Physics with previous experience of teaching within the National Curriculum for England or a British-style setting. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Physics across the Senior School including GCSE and IB, and General Science in Key Stage 3. Experience of teaching IB is desirable. The school has excellent facilities and resources for teaching Science. The Science Department works effectively as a team sharing ideas and promoting learning.

Core Responsibilities:

• A graduate in Physics or a related subject, with Qualified Teacher Status and a minimum of three years’ teaching experience post-QTS.
• An enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a genuine passion for the subject, able to motivate and inspire students using a variety of strategies.
• Recent experience teaching Physics within the National Curriculum for England and (I)GCSE, A Level, or IB.
• Incorporates assessment for learning as an integral part of classroom practice.
• Understands how to stretch more able students and support those who require further intervention.
• Works collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Committed to ongoing professional development.
• Enjoys contributing to co-curricular activities.
• ​Meets all safeguarding requirements of the school.

All staff are expected to show a genuine commitment to supporting co-curricular activities, school events, and school trips. To comply with Egyptian employment law, applicants must have QTS and a minimum of three years’ post-qualification teaching experience.
