The Board
is committed to a policy of openness and transparency, but is also determined
to preserve privacy when necessary.
The Board’s decisions are
public, though on occasion the Board may vote to delay their publication
if good reason exists, but the Board’s discussions and voting are confidential,
as are the proceedings of all of the Board’s committees. Policies determined
by the Board are in general necessarily public, but when questions relating
to the application of these policies in specific cases come before the
Board or any of its committees, decisions may be confidential. Decisions
relating to individual pupils or staff will always be confidential, unless
the individual or the legal guardian concerned consents to disclosure and
the Board also votes specifically to disclose the decision in question.
