The Board
of the BISS is a group of volunteers who are elected to act in the best
interests of the school and--especially--of its pupils. Board members bring
a wealth of experience and concern for children to their positions, and
are the guardians of the school's educational mission and of its legal
and financial well-being.
The Board has adopted a policy
of transparency. For practical reasons, this cannot mean that all the
proceedings of the board and its committees are public. It does mean that
the board wants to share as much as possible of what it does, and to
encourage feedback and constructive participation from parents and other
members of the wider community.
