COBIS and IAPS are constituent members of the UK Independent Schools Council (ISC), which entitles BISC to formal inspections from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). BISC is the first school in Egypt to be have been inspected by ISI; please refer to BISC News to view the full inspection report.

Its successful ISI inspection led the school to full accreditation with COBIS:

"The British International School, Cairo has met all the criteria of the Independent Schools Council of the United Kingdom for the provision of high quality British education and is hereby formally accredited by the Council of British International School" (May 2009)

The Principal is an executive member of COBIS, trustee and treasurer of the organization. The Head of Junior School is an executive member of BSME and a member of its Events' Committee. The Head of Mathematics chairs the ECIS math sub-committee and several teachers are IB examiners.
