BISC Public
Examination Results 2009
Introduction
We are very
pleased with our public examination results, which are in line with the
standard of the last two year’s successes at GCSE and IB. They represent
a significant achievement for the fourth year in succession: the
fulfillment of four years of hard work and a foundation for future
educational success. Our IB students leave us to take up their places at
some of the best universities in the world, and our GCSE pupils move on
to scale new academic heights at BISC. Our success at GCSE and IB is one
reason why our Sixth Form continues to grow even though we are not
compromising on the entry standard.
Headline Summary

At IB, our ISI

At GCSE, 3
students achieved 10 A*s and 5 students achieved straight A* - A grades,
representing 16% of the new Year 12. This is our target group for
Oxbridge and Ivy League universities.
At GCSE, our ISI
inspection of November 2008 revealed that, when compared over the past 3
years with all maintained schools in England, we rank in the 1st
category out of 7 with all of our subjects ranking above average and
most ranking in the top category. The results of 2009 maintain this
position.
