Sports Roundup - Week 11

Under 12 Girls’ Football

The Under 12 team registered a 2-1 win against a resilient AIS-West team. BISC went behind early on and despite having most of the possession in the first half, they failed to put the AIS goal under enough pressure, always wanting an extra touch before shooting. Things changed in the second half and the team put the AIS goal under far more pressure, forcing their goalkeeper to make a number of fine saves. Haya Emam finally made the breakthrough with a well-executed control and turn, before placing the ball in the goal. Whilst AIS always looked dangerous on the break, BISC remained in control of the game and Karma sealed a hard won victory with an opportunist goal. Lila Moustafa worked hard all through the match in midfield and Mariam Fayek was solid in defence.

Under 12 Boys’ Football

The Under 12 team registered a comprehensive 4-1 win against a well-organized and disciplined AIS- West team. BISC opened the scoring of the game and implemented a solid game plan that involved recycling of the ball around the half way line showing patients and composure to unlock an opportunity. The breakthrough came from a famous Joseph Ghattas free kick. AIS leveled things up with a well constructed counter attacking goal. The second half began in the same matter as the first with BISC commanding possession while using the full width of the pitch to their advantage. Goals then inevitably followed from Ramez Shehata and Mahmoud Safty as well as an own goal by the AIS team. Overall, a very good display by the BISC U12 boys with many good things expected from this team.

The Year 9 team played out an entertaining 5-5 draw with BSE. They had to work hard to ensure they did not suffer defeat and in the second half they had to play catch up until virtually the last kick of the game. Goals from Ramsey (2). Fayek and Youssef Fouad set up a tense finish which was rounded off when Ahmed Amr reacted quickest whist everyone else was appealing for a penalty.
