Under 13 and U15 netball

On Friday 23rd September the U13 and U15 netball teams played in their first tournament of the season. This was a friendly tournament in preparation for fixtures later in the year. The other teams involved were MES and MBIS.

The U13 team played two games, the first was against MES. The team worked well together getting the ball down the court to the shooters, with excellent passes into the circle from Tamara and Mariam and some fantastic shooting from Lila and Sherifa. The final score against MES was 13-2 to BISC. The second game the U13s played was against MBIS. Again, some fantastic teamwork and great defending from Emma in Goal Keeper and Fatima in Goal Defence. The final score was 13-0 to BISC. Well done to the following girls;

  • Lila
  • Tamara
  • Mariam
  • Layla
  • Fatima
  • Sherifa
  • Malika
  • Emma

The U15 girls also played two games, both against MES. The team had a slow start, as some of them haven’t played for 2 years! Footwork, pivoting and obstructing the opposition were all an issue as they took a while to settle into their first game against. Intercepting, communicating and reading the game were strengths and eventually they managed to pull back to level the game in the second half. Final score 3-3. Captain Salma Attia was great at tipping the ball to gain the interceptions in our defending third and Farah El Rawas shot well to gain us the draw. When they played this team again for a re-match the girls were ready for it and gained a comfortable win. Some excellent centre court play from Malak Choucri, Leila Salah, Lara Aboul Gheit and Nouran Elaboudy made us a tougher team to defend second time round. Dana Soliman and Salma Raslan got into their groove and turned over many more shots in this game and Nour Elesh and Amina Aboul Fettouh marked closely in their goal keeper positions; making it difficult for MES to get the ball into the circle. Lots of things to work on, but otherwise very enjoyable. We wish MES all the best when they attend the BSME netball tournament in Abu Dhabi later this term.
