Junior Swimming League

Cairo Junior Schools’ Swimming League, 17th February 2017

BISC went to the first round of the Cairo Junior Schools’ Swimming League, at ISC-6 (Dreamland); fielding two teams from the Junior School, with a total of 48 swimmers. Not knowing what to expect, the BISC children did not hold back any punches, by tackling every race well, coming out on top and winning most of them. BISC won every round going into the relays and once again, was dominant in every age group, apart from one, where we unfortunately got disqualified. However, this did not phase the team, by bouncing straight back to win in the medley relay. The ‘B’ team, made up of swimmers who were competing for the first time, or were very young (e.g. Under 9’s), did themselves proud, coming third overall (see table 1). A special mention has to be made to Mona Sami, Salma El Sheikh, Hassan El-Naggar, Hannah Emam and Jude Sultan, who are all in Year 3, competing for their first time. There were many others from Year 4, who also equipped themselves well and will be stars of the future.
