'...the human mind has not achieved anything greater than the ability to share human thoughts and feelings through language' (James Earl Jones).

Drama is an integral part of the curriculum for students Y1-Y9. It forms a popular and successful elective at GCSE, and it helps to develop important personal skills - specifically an understanding and appreciation of self. It develops confidence and deals with vital personal issues, such as bullying, in meaningful contexts. The annual GCSE production, filmed in front of a live audience, shows off the acting craft at its best.

Drama has a huge role to play in wider school life. There are major theatrical productions in all Junior year groups and an annual Senior School play or musical. These productions offer a huge range of opportunity to our students: acting, dancing and singing, choreography and stage management, as well as front-of-house. All students get involved.

More widely, there are local theatre workshops (with Sitara), puppet theatre (with the Doum Cultural Foundation), specially hosted productions, and a drama trip to London and Stratford for GCSE students.
