Accreditation

BISC is an Accredited Member of The Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and The Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS). It is also in membership of The British Schools of the Middle East (BSME).

BISC is an IB World School, having been accredited to teach the IB Diploma in 1989. It is registered with the Department for Education (DFE) in the United Kingdom, licensed to run its own GCSE examinations and accredited as a BTEC Centre. It is inspected by The Independent Schools' Inspectorate (ISI), the organisation that inspects most UK independent schools. Several school senior managers are experienced ISI inspectors.

COBIS and IAPS are constituent members of the UK Independent Schools Council (ISC), which entitled BISC to a formal inspection from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). BISC was the first school in Egypt to be inspected by the ISI, and the first to have been accredited by the IAPS.

Her Majesty's Ambassador to Egypt is Patron of the School.

BISC is one of the few schools in the world and the only school in Egypt, inspected under the British Schools Overseas scheme, to have been judged as excellent in all aspects.

"The British International School Cairo fulfils its challenging aims in exemplary fashion. The caring, supportive ethos creates an outstanding learning environment."
